The sun's just coming up, the first batch of beans is brewing, it must be time to get to work.

The Boss was away part of last week, but is now hard at work catching up on Calling All Hearts, editing and formatting.  The Boss calls it a Trying to Do the Right Thing/Getting It All Wrong/Finally Making It Right story.  It's about a young woman who, following in her late father's footsteps, becomes a policeman, meets a man who seems to have everything, but thinks he has nothing to live for.  They get married and nothing goes the way either of them expected.  She's a nice girl who works hard at everything she does, but takes everything that everyone dumps on her.  It takes something very bad to make her stand up for herself and make very hard decisions.  He's a man who has never been considered very nice, who works hard at everything he does, and takes everything from everyone whether they want to give it up or not.  It takes something very bad for him to realize that decisions he makes effect not just him, but everyone around him.

Last week I offered to give away free copies of this book (the Boss wasn't exactly pleased about it, but finally agreed that it might work - only, it hasn't).  The problem has been that, although sales have been pretty good, there have been no reviews in places where they count - Amazon, for example.  I thought people might make the effort to review a book if they could get another book free for their efforts.  No one has taken me up on the offer.

The offer is still open until April 01.

Coffee's ready.
