Last time on The Untime Revisited: When Jules contacts the other monsters which had been following Menton, he is amazed to find that they are friendly and helpful, offering to assist him and Agathe in their quest for Agathe’s father. Their mental powers seem adapted for the Untime, and their suggestion is that Jules allows himself to be swallowed by one of their number in order to help communication. Although he has many misgivings, and Agathe is fearful of the result, he allows himself to be absorbed by one of the monsters.
